The Atrocities of Belgium King Butchered ten millions Congolese
Last night i watched the half-an-hour ‘Bob Geldof in Africa’ programme on BBC. He travelled there to Republic of Congo, a country he describes as has experienced ‘a brutal past and uncertain and unsettled present’.
one thing interesting when he mentioned that there’s tragedy in 19th century when King Leopold the Second of Belgium invaded and colonialized (now, occupied) the Congo. he tortured and killed more than ten millions people. an atrocities will be hard to forget; but easily forgotten by the invaders in particular and the west in general. besides, the king has looted the exessive wealth of congo: a common trend in the colonial era which now softly carried out more shopisticatedly by the present empire: the US.
