“Currently, we have 70-90 per cent share in Indian market. We intend to raise it further by introducing efficient technologies,” HP’s Imaging and Printing vice president Ravi Aggarwal said.
“We are currently selling 30,000 printers. Through the launch of these new printers, we would achieve 25 per cent growth in a year,” he said.
In Indian market, the HP sells 30,000 units per year and could touch 37,000 unit mark by the next fiscal, Agarwal added.
The HP launched two printers HP Phtosmart 8238 and HP Phtosmart 3108 All-in-One based on its scalable printing technology.
The two printers, 8238 and 3108, have been priced at Rs 12,999 and Rs 14,9999 plus tax respectively.
He claimed that the 8238 is capable of printing 33 colour pages and 33 black and white pages pages.
HP’s Vice President for Supplies, Imaging and Pringing Group in Asia Pacific and Japan John Soloman said HP had made a strategic investment of over 1.4 billion dollar over last five years to develop the technology and would continue to invest 1 billion dollar evey year on its research and development.
He said the newly launched products prints a 4×6 photo in 14 second, faster than any printer in the world.
